Where have you been?
Thanks for dropping by. Northern Moods are a group of individuals based in Marsden and its surrounding areas who all share the same passion for photography.
The idea to setup a group was initially floated by Docmattk from Flickr. The group met on a couple of occasions and the idea of a group photobook to be produced for charity was born.
The photobook was to be based around the village of Marsden which most of the photographers were from. The founding members all submitted some of their favorite photos taken in Marsden, Huddersfield to a newly created group on Flickr called Marsden photobook. The photos were then published to create the groups first book, Marsden Moods.
Marsden Moods captures scenes of day to day life, the surrounding countyside and the spectacular festivals that take part through the year in Marsden. The book is produced on a not for profit basis with any cash raised from the sale being donated to a local charity in the village (The Cuckoo's Nest).

September 16th, 2009As I type, Blurb are printing 200 shiny copies of our wonderful book! We should receive the order in a couple of weeks so the waiting and hard work is nearly over! Not only that but Matt has managed to secure a special price on the printing meaning we can sell books from this order at £10 a book! £2 cheaper than you can get them online!
We're publishing our first photobook!
15th August, 2009We are delighted to announce that the group is publising it's first book in time for the Marsden Jazz festival on the 9th - 11th October 2009. It will be a collection of photos from all the years events in Marsden as well as some stunning photos of the area. All profits from the book will be donated to the Cuckoo's Nest Charity.
